How the commission model works
In a commission deal, the agency takes a share of what you earn each month. The share is usually counted on net earnings, which means after OnlyFans takes its own 20 percent platform fee. Publicly listed agency rates commonly sit between 20 and 50 percent, and the higher end often includes a chatting team that talks to fans for you.
Why creators choose it
- Little or nothing to pay up front.
- The agency only earns more if you earn more, so it has a reason to push.
- It often comes as a full package: promotion, content planning and sometimes chatting.
Where it hurts
The fee grows with your success. When your page grows, the agency's cut grows too, even if the work it does stays the same. Many commission contracts also run for a fixed term, such as six or twelve months, and some ask for a share of earnings for a period after you leave.
Fee arithmetic, not a forecast of earnings.
How a fixed monthly retainer works
With a retainer, you pay a set amount every month for a set list of services. The price does not change when your earnings rise. Fixed fees vary widely on the market, from small packages sold by freelancers for a few posts to team retainers in the range of several hundred to a few thousand dollars a month.
Why creators choose it
- Every dollar you earn above the fee stays yours.
- You know your cost before the month starts.
- It is easier to compare offers, because each one lists what you get.
Where it hurts
You pay the same amount in a slow month as in a strong one. A retainer also only makes sense if the work is clearly defined and you can check that it was done. A fixed fee for vague "management" is no better than a high commission.
Where commission and a fixed fee cost the same
The break even point is simple math: divide the fixed fee by the commission rate. Below that level of net earnings, the commission costs less. Above it, the fixed fee costs less.

How to use the break even numbers
Compare the same work
The table only compares price. Before you decide, make sure both offers include the same tasks. A 50 percent commission that includes a full chatting team is a different product from a retainer that covers promotion only. Write down what each offer includes, line by line.
Think about the next twelve months
Do not compare only on today's earnings. If you expect to grow, look at what each model costs at your goal, not at your starting point. Commission feels cheap at the start and expensive later. A retainer feels expensive at the start and cheap later.
Count the hidden costs
Ask about setup fees, minimum terms, ad budgets and any share of earnings after you leave. These can change the real cost more than the headline rate.

Contract terms that matter as much as the price
Contract length and exit
Check how long the contract runs and how you leave. A good deal lets you stop at the end of any month. Be careful with long lock ins, early exit fees and clauses that give the agency a share of your earnings after the contract ends.
Account access
Ask exactly what access the agency needs and how it is given. Sending your password by email or chat is a risk. Some services, such as promotion on Reddit and X, do not need your OnlyFans login at all.
Who owns what
Your content, your fan list and your social accounts should stay yours. Make sure the contract says so in plain words, and that the agency cannot change your passwords or lock you out.
Proof of work
Ask how you will see what was done each month. A list of posts with links, a list of shoutout swaps and the results of each message campaign are easy to check. Vague monthly summaries are not.
Red flags when comparing agencies
- A promise of a set number of subscribers or a set income. No one can promise that honestly.
- Pressure to sign the same day or a contract you cannot read before signing.
- Bought followers, bought upvotes or bots presented as growth.
- Promotion that breaks platform rules, such as adult content on Instagram or TikTok.
- No clear list of tasks and no way to check the work.
- Requests to send passwords by email or to give up control of your accounts.
How FanMarketers prices its work
FanMarketers uses a fixed monthly fee with a clear list of tasks and limits for each plan. We do promotion: Reddit, X, short video, SFS swaps and message campaigns, depending on the plan. We do not chat with fans for you. Every task is logged with proof in your dashboard, and you can cancel any month in the dashboard, effective at the end of the period.
If you are comparing an OnlyFans promotion agency with a commission based manager, start with the break even table above and your own numbers. You can see what each plan includes on the pricing page, or read what an OnlyFans marketing agency does day to day before you decide.
Questions about OnlyFans agency fees
How much do OnlyFans agencies charge?
Most management agencies charge a commission, commonly 20 to 50 percent of net earnings. Others charge a fixed monthly fee that ranges from small freelancer packages to team retainers of several hundred to a few thousand dollars a month.
Is commission counted before or after the OnlyFans fee?
It is usually counted on net earnings, after OnlyFans takes its 20 percent platform fee. Check the contract, because some agencies count it differently.
When is a fixed monthly fee cheaper than commission?
A fixed fee is cheaper once your net earnings pass the break even point, which is the fee divided by the commission rate. For example, a 999 USD fee equals a 30 percent commission at 3,330 USD net a month.
What should I check in an agency contract?
Check the contract length, how you can leave, any share of earnings after you leave, what account access is needed, who owns your content and accounts, and how you will see proof of the work.
